Accessing the IH network for partner agencies and service providers

External agencies

External agencies include educational institutions, contractors, consultants, residential partners, government agencies, other Health Authorities, collaborative partners, DI Clinics, researchers, agency RN's, remote transcriptionists, and Sessions Billing contractors.. Private Physician Offices/Clinics

Interior Health is currently revising the process for credentialed physicians’ private clinic/office access, which includes MOA access to the IH information systems.  If you are a credentialed physician you must have signed and submitted the Information Sharing Agreement as per the re-appointment process that is currently underway.  If you did not receive any information on the re-appointment process please contact our office by phone (tollfree) at 1-855-980-5020 or email us

Educational Institutions Student Access

Access to IH systems for clinical students performing practicums in IH departments.

Initial one time requirement:

  • External Access Letter of Agreement: Only required for Clinical Nursing Programs  (RN, LPN, Unit Clerk). Completed by IMIT Education Liaison and Educational Institution Program Administrator

For each student requiring access, please complete:

  • External User Access Agreement: For non-nursing programs, the form is completed by the IH Department manager and the student.  For Clinical Nursing Programs (RN, LPN, Unit Clerk), form is completed by Educational Institution Program Administrator or designate and student

External System Access - all others

Access to IH systems for all external users (excluding students). All external agencies/contractors etc. require an IH sponsor prior to approval of access.

Vendor/service providers

Vendors/Service Providers provide support services for IMIT infrastructure and software.  A single account is provided to be utilized by all the service provider's staff to access the IH network. A contract between the vendor and Interior Health must be in place prior to any request for access being authorized. Service provider is required to follow the Access Compliance Request & Report process.

  • External Access Letter of Agreement: This agreement form is completed and signed by the service provider's CEO/Vice President/President/Director on behalf of their organziation. This form is only required to be submitted once for the service provider company.
  • Service Provider Access Agreement: This agreement form is completed and signed by the service provider's CEO/Vice President/President/Director on behalf of their organziation. This form is only required to be submitted once for the service provider company. Upon approval a single service provider account is setup to be utilized by all the service provider's staff that provide support services remotely to IH. 
  • Access Request and Report Process Overview: To ensure compliance with the B.C. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, IH has an access request and report process in place.  Please review the process and contact the Information Privacy & Security Office if you have any questions.
