
Who is eligible for the H1N1 Vaccination?
Effective November 20, 2009 - With the exception of infants less than 6 months, anyone who wants or needs an H1N1 vaccination is eligible.
Who is eligible for the Seasonal Flu Vaccination?
Starting the week of November 2nd, seasonal flu vaccine is now available to anyone who has been eligible in past years, not just those over 65 years. This list includes:
- People 65 years and older and their caregivers/household contacts
- Children and adults with chronic health conditions and their household contacts
- Children and adolescents (6 months to 18 years) with conditions treated for long periods of time with Acetylsalicylic acid and their household contacts
- Healthy children age 6-23 months
- Household contacts and caregivers of infants age 0-23 months
- Pregnant women who will be in their third trimester during influenza season and their household contacts
- Residents of nursing homes and other chronic care facilities
- Health care and other care providers in facilities and community settings who are capable of transmitting influenza to those at high risk of influenza complications
- People who work with live poultry
- Volunteers for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games including the Paralympic Games.
If you are eligible for both, you will be able to receive both where offered at the same clinics.
Both H1N1 and seasonal influenza vaccines are also available from many physicians and walk-in clinics, and in the coming weeks from some pharmacies.
