Role of Interior Health Licensing Officers

• Assess all applications to operate a community care facility
• Assess the suitability of applicants (licensees) and/or their designated managers
• Provide consultation to individuals, groups or organizations on all aspects of the licensing process
• Conduct inspections of community care facilities
• Investigate complaints that a facility is operating in contravention of the Community Care and Assisted Living Act or the Child Care Licensing Regulation
• Investigate serious incidents or allegations of abuse or neglect.
