KGH is expanding!
The Kelowna & Vernon Hospitals Expansion Project broke ground in November 2009. The KGH expansion will include a new, approximately 360,000-square-foot Patient Care Tower, including modernizing and quadrupling the size of the emergency department. A new University of British Columbia Medical School Clinical Academic Campus will also be built on the KGH site.

Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is the Central Okanagan’s primary acute care health facility. It is one of two Interior Health tertiary referral hospitals (the other being
Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops), offering high-level, specialty medical care.
KGH Services:
- Medical/Surgical Services – Emergency medicine, family practice, geriatrics, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatry, surgery, cardiology and critical care medicine. KGH also provides tertiary services for trauma patients, those with multi-system failure and patients requiring acute dialysis, vascular surgery, thoracic surgery or neurosurgery.
- Ambulatory Care & Outpatient Clinics – Cardiac, chemical dependency, day care surgery, GI lab, EEG, ENG, EMG, hemodialysis, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pediatric chemotherapy, peritoneal dialysis, pulmonary function, rehab day program, respirology/allergy program and urology.
- Diagnostic/Paramedical Services – Diagnostic imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, nutrition, counselling, occupational therapy, orthotics and prosthetics, drug counseling, physiotherapy, psychology, and speech pathology.

- 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Further visitor restrictions may apply as patient comfort and care needs are our priority.
