Services:

  • Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is Interior Health's primary acute care health facility for the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap.

    It is a Tertiary Referral hospital offering high-level, specialty medical care.

    LaboratoryDiagnostic Imaging and Nuclear Medicine
  • Specialty and sub-specialty care in medical and surgical services.
  • Tertiary services for patients with multi-system failure and patients requiring vascular surgery or neurosurgery.

Visiting Hours:

  • Standard – 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Visiting hours depend on the type of care being provided
  • Patients may have up to two visitors at a time unless other arrangements have been made.

Gift Shop (on 2nd floor)

  • Monday to Friday - 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, Sunday & holidays - 1:00 pm to 5 pm

Complaints and Concerns

Special Considerations:

In order to promote a healthy workforce and health-care environment, the Royal Inland Hospital has implemented a "Scent Reduced Environment" to alleviate the amount of airborne chemical contaminants in the hospital. We ask that all employees, patients and visitors avoid wearing perfume, cologne, or aftershave within the hospital.

  • Ambulatory Psychiatric Services – provides counseling and support.
  • Clinical Nutrition Inpatient Service – provides nutritional assessment, care plans and education.
  • Elderly Mental Health Service – provides specialized treatment services through admission to either an assessment or treatment unit.
  • Interior Health/Thompson Cariboo Shuswap Lung Health Program – a respiratory rehab program designed to maximize the quality of life for people with chronic lung disease.
  • Puffers' Club – a support group for people with chronic lung disease.
