2010 Local Health Area Profiles
The Local Health Area (LHA) profiles provide a picture of health for the over 735,000 residents living in the Interior Health region. They also serve as a reference tool for those involved in providing and planning health services.
The LHA profiles include data from a variety of sources including the BC Vital Statistics Agency, the BC Ministry of Health's Health Data Warehouse, BC Stats, Statistics Canada, and the Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI). These data are derived from the discharge abstract data (DAD), surveys, and the most recent Census data. The information is based upon relevance to Interior Health goals and strategies, provincial health goals, and Ministry strategic directions.
The individual LHA, HSA and IHA profiles are available directly below, grouped by Health Service Area – East Kootenay, Kootenay Boundary, Okanagan, and Thompson Cariboo Shuswap.
