Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is a tertiary hospital and referral center with 349 beds, a full range of services, an adjacent cancer centre, a new state-of-the-art Centennial Building, and is the primary acute care facility in region. The new expansion that opened in May 2012 boasts a total of 360,000 square feet, an expanded emergency and ambulatory care department, larger operating rooms and a rooftop helipad. Future expansion plans are to continue the facility developments with the addition of the new Interior Health and Surgical Center, which will include the Cardiac Revascularization Center.
KGH has several surgical services that provide regional care that includes General Surgery, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, Plastics, and Neurosurgery. Our facility is also the primary site for the UBC Southern Medical Program, turning KGH into a true teaching hospital. As such, this position will include instructing opportunities to residents and students in clinical environments.
