Clinic: Clearwater Medical Centre is a collegial single-group clinic located two kilometers from the hospital site. The clinic services a population base of approximately 5,000 people. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Physicians also provide on-call services for the hospital. The Medical Centre has an Electronic Medical Record (EMR), and a full physician complement of four or five physicians. Physicians generally work four days a week in the clinic. Hospital: Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital is a 24-hour Level 1 community hospital newly completed in 2002, with a 24-hour Emergency Room. This facility has six private Acute Care beds, six stretcher beds in the Emergency Room, and an attached twenty-one bed Residential Care Unit. The hospital also provides inpatient and outpatient services for Laboratory, Electrocardiogram (ECG) Service, Radiology, Physiotherapy, and Spirometry. Additional services include Home Care, Home Support, Public Health, Environmental Health & Protection Services, Diabetes and Dietitian Teaching, as well as Mental Health services through Yellowhead Community Services. Kamloops is the nearest tertiary referral site. Hospital transportation is supported by an Ambulance Station that is located on same property as the hospital. In emergency situations, a helicopter and the High Acuity Response Team (HART) are dispatched from Kamloops to transport the patient from the site to an advanced centre for additional acute care.

- $250,000 - $350,000 before overhead and multiple stipends

RSA Incentives:

- The Rural Physicians for British Columbia provide a one-time incentive payment of $100,000 for a three-year return of service (if eligible).
- Recruitment incentive: $20,000
- Retention fee premium: 14%
- Retention flat fee: $12,240
- Retention Fee Premium of 14% is on top of all fee for service billings.
