Accessing the IH network for partner agencies and service providers

External agencies

External agencies include educational institutions, contractors, consultants, residential partners, government agencies, other Health Authorities, collaborative partners, DI Clinics, researchers, agency RN's, remote transcriptionists, and Sessions Billing contractors. Private Physician Offices/Clinics

For a credentialed physician to obtain access to the Interior Health information systems for their private clinic/office access, including MOA access, the physician must have signed and submitted the Information Sharing Agreement (ISA). If you require information on the ISA process please contact our office by email

To obtain access for private clinic staff, once an ISA has been completed:

Medical Staff Member or Office Manager (if identified on the Information Sharing Agreement): please login with your IH credentials to submit a request via the Access Management Portal. If you receive a “Login Error: Mnemonic or Password incorrect” message, please call the Service Desk at 1-855-242-1300, to get your password reset.  If you receive an Access Denied error message, please call 1-855-242-1300 and request a ticket be submitted to the Access Team, provide the AMP error message and your contact information.

Educational Institutions Student Access

Access to IH systems for students performing practicums in IH departments.

Initial one time requirement for Educational Institutions:

For each student requiring access:

  • An AMP request must be submitted by the Educational Institution Representative or Signatory and accepted by the student.

External System Access - all others

Access to IH systems for all external users (excluding students). All external agencies/contractors etc. require an IH sponsor prior to approval of access.

Vendor/service providers

Vendors/Service Providers provide support services for IMIT infrastructure and software.  A single account is provided to be utilized by all the service provider's staff to access the IH network. A contract between the vendor and Interior Health must be in place prior to any request for access being authorized. Service provider is required to follow the Access Compliance Request & Report process.

  • External Access Letter of Agreement: This agreement form is completed and signed by the service provider's CEO/Vice President/President/Director on behalf of their organization. This form is only required to be submitted once for the service provider company.
  • Service Provider Access Agreement: This agreement form is completed and signed by the service provider's CEO/Vice President/President/Director on behalf of their organization. This form is only required to be submitted once for the service provider company. Upon approval a single service provider account is setup to be utilized by all the service provider's staff that provide support services remotely to IH. 
  • Access Request and Report Process Overview: To ensure compliance with the B.C. Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, IH has an access request and report process in place.  Please review the process and contact the Information Privacy & Security Office if you have any questions.
