Gillis House is a one-storey, multi-level care facility located in the heart of Merritt.  Gillis House consists of 74 beds; 7 of these beds are respite beds and 2 palliative care beds.  The building has access to outdoor patios, which are located on each wing.  There is a beautifully fenced yard and walking path for residents and family and a garden located off the main dining room for residents to enjoy.  Each unit has a common dining room and quiet areas throughout the building.

Our resident-centred philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible.

Palliative care and end-of-life services, including  eligibility assessment and the provision of medical assistance in dying (MAiD), are available at this care home.

Type of Accommodation: 74 residential care beds.Rooms consist of four-, two-, and single-dwelling accommodations.  There are ceiling track lifts in each room and the rooms are wheelchair accessible.

Monthly rate is up to 80 per cent of client’s after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. More information.​

Special Recreation: Bus to provide resident recreational outings.  Site offers entertainment during the day and evening.  Daily activities and special occasions and events provided by recreation staff and other.
