Heron Grove opened in early 2007 and offers seniors multiple levels of care and the ability to age in place. This campus of care includes the main building which houses the assisted and independent living suites and six 12-bed care cottages.

Access:

Access to subsidized long-term care is through an assessment by Interior Health staff. For more information on subsidized care services, contact the Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized long-term care.​

Building Amenities: Each cottage has a TV lounge and Reading lounge. Secure entrance system, kitchen, dining room and large courtyard.

Philosophy of Care:

The mission of The Good Samaritan Society is to extend Christian Hospitality through a continuum of care to those in need or at risk, regardless of race or religious belief.

Palliative care and end-of-life services, including eligibility assessment and the provision of medical assistance in dying (MAiD), are available at this care home.

Type of Accommodation: 76 licensed complex care beds.  All six of the care cottages are a unique duplex designed to create a home-like setting for residents. These are typically residents that require 24-hour professional care for complex and medical conditions including physical and dementia. Each half of the duplex has six bedrooms, a living room with fireplace and secure access to a fenced yard. Each resident bedroom has an ensuite washroom.
Cost:

Monthly rate is up to 80 per cent of client’s after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. More information.​

Special Recreation: Special recreation opportunities are seasonal such as:  fishing trips, Christmas light tours, picnics and lake boat tours. Heron Grove has a 12 passenger bus.

Motorized Scooter Policy: Cottages have a maximum allowance for Motorized scooters due to storage constraints.
Pet Policy: No pets in complex care.
