Two-storey building. Residential care suites provide private bedrooms and bathrooms, arranged in small neighborhoods that provide a family atmosphere that promotes mobility and encourages visits. Residents share a dining room, living room, spa room and social/activity areas with other seniors in their neighbourhood.  Wide hallways, level-entry thresholds and three-foot wide doors all facilitate the movement of seniors using walkers and wheelchairs. Long-term care individuals enjoy the pleasures of a near home-like atmosphere with the added security of 24hr qualified care.​

Access:

Access to subsidized long-term care is through an assessment by Interior Health staff. For more information on subsidized long-term care services, contact the Home Health office nearest you. Please do not contact the Operator directly regarding subsidized long-term care.​

Philosophy of Care:

Our philosophy, which we call Real Living™, is informed by our belief in the importance of living and supporting others in their quest to live their best life possible. Our resident-centred philosophy is based on the ‘social model of care,’ which considers an individual’s physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs rather than just their medical needs. Our social model accepts and adapts to an individual’s functional abilities, personal desires, life experiences, and health needs. It respects individual differences, promotes individual choice and focuses on strength and wellness. Our core principles include choice, privacy, independence, individuality, dignity and respect.​

Type of Accommodation:

102 residential care suites are grouped into 8 ‘neighbourhoods’ that house residents with similar interests and needs. Each neighbourhood is comprised of 12 to 15 suites that share a kitchen, cozy living room, private dining areas, bathing amenities, and access to fully landscaped courtyards. Each neighbourhood has access to an outdoor patio, lounges, the village center and the amenities located on ‘Main Street’ which features The Styling Company hair salon, Golden Life Pharmacy, a chapel, an exercise room and professional offices. 

 

Private residential care rooms include private washrooms and accessibility features such as integrated ceiling lifts, raised toilets, grab bars and low profile electric beds.

 

Cost:

Monthly rate is up to 80 per cent of client’s after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. More information.​

Special Recreation:

Residents are provided with numerous opportunities to participate in social, recreational and therapeutic activities that help maintain and enhance cognitive and physical ability and provide opportunities for growth.

A recreation team provides activities for large and small groups, along with one-on-one opportunities. During the year there is opportunity for group outings using the Village shuttle bus.​

Fully accessible, with elevators.​

Motorized Scooter Policy:

Accepted - liability insurance required.​

Pet Policy:

Visiting pets are welcomed and they add much to the atmosphere.​

Smoking Policy:

A designated smoking area is provided.​

 

Safety & Security:

Sprinkler system, smoke alarms, strategic fire doors, regular fire drills, exterior doors locked at night. Coded doors to the neighbourhoods and exterior doors.​

Neighbourhood Community Amenities:

Within a short drive of several restaurants and stores. A bridge to the local mall has recently been constructed, for those who have the mobility to make a visit.​

Facility Restrictions:

Two private pay rooms are available. The remaining 100 rooms receive placement via Interior Health. Three rooms are typically reserved for short stays, such as respite.​

Other Amenities:

Each neighbourhood has access to an outdoor patio, for residents to bask in the sun or enjoy planting fresh flowers. The Main Street of the building is home to a café, hair salon, pharmacy and fitness centre.​
