Philosophy of Care:

Our resident-centred philosophy is designed to support residents’ choices, help people function at their highest level and provide the best quality of life possible.

Palliative care and end-of-life services, including  eligibility assessment and the provision of medical assistance in dying (MAiD), are available at this care home.

Type of Accommodation:

18 long-term care beds

Three double occupancy rooms with shared bathroom; two single rooms with shared bathroom; 10 private rooms with bathrooms.

2 respite/palliative beds.


Monthly rate is up to 80 per cent of client’s after tax income, with minimum and maximum rates set by the Ministry of Health Services. More information.

Special Recreation: Full time Rehabilitation/Activity worker. Bingo, sing-along music, crossword puzzles, afternoon teas, weekly outings.
Wheel chair accessible.
Motorized Scooter Policy: Residents are assessed by Physiotherapist and staff on admission. If physically and mentally capable of motorized scooter, can use it to go on own outings or to access downtown area.
Pet Policy: Currently a no live-in pet policy due to staff allergies. However, families are welcome to bring pets in to visit.
Smoking Policy:

Kaslo residential adheres to the Interior Health “smoke-free” policy. However, variances under this policy are available.​

Safety & Security:
Alarm system on all doors. Residents who are elopement risks wear a “wanderguard” bracelet. Doors are all coded entry. Garden area is fenced. Area for ER department is separated from residential with coded doors.

Senior Citizen’s group-holds teas and meetings on regular basis.
Local Legion branch has cribbage tournaments on Sundays.
