Project Timeline

2012

Summer: Concept Plan submitted to provincial government.

2013

Business Plan development.

2014

Spring: The province of British Columbia approved the Penticton Regional Hospital Patient Care Tower Project.

September: Interior Health released the Request for Qualifications (RFQ), seeking qualified teams interested in taking on the project. 

December: Interior Health shortlisted three teams interested in the project.

Interior Health released the Request for Proposals (RFP), seeking project proposals from the three shortlisted teams.2015

 

2016

January: EllisDon Infrastructure announced as the preferred proponent to design, build, finance and maintain the project.

July: Construction began on Phase 1 of the project.

2017

March: The patient care tower named the David E. Kampe Tower after local businessman and philanthropist.

2019

Spring: The David E. Kampe Tower expected to open for patients.

Spring: Phase II renovations expected to begin.

2021

 

Phase II renovations expected to be complete.
