About the Simulation Program

Patient Simulation provides healthcare professionals with the most realistic and rewarding experience for learning in a safe environment.  The goal is for participants to leave the simulation educational experience feeling more prepared and confident to optimally care for patients using best practices.  To achieve this, we utilize highly realistic computerized mannequins and/or real people to simulate patient care scenarios in order to make this experience similar to what is encountered in the clinical setting.

The Simulation programs demonstrate inter-professional collaboration in providing simulation learning activities for undergraduate and postgraduate learners, IH employees, physicians, residents and first responders.

To support excellence in healthcare delivery through the use of simulation based education.

To facilitate simulation-based education that:

  • promotes inter-professional engagement and collaboration; and
  • supports highly competent providers and learners to achieve excellence in health care delivery
