Interior Health (IH) medical staff are governed by the IH Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and IH Policies, as well as the standards and guidelines of respective regulatory colleges:
The IH Medical Staff Bylaws describe the relationship and responsibilities between the IH Board of Directors and individual medical staff members within medical staff structures.
The Bylaws align with the Hospital Act, its Regulations, and the Health Authorities Act. The Bylaws are approved by the B.C. Minister of Health.

The Medical Staff Rules (revised April 2026) are established by the Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Health Authority Medical Advisory Committee (HAMAC) and the medical staff. These rules are in keeping with the intent of the Medical Staff Bylaws.
