Getting immunized before travelling
If you plan on travelling, it’s important to get the recommended or required immunizations before you go. This depends on the immunizations you’ve had in the past, your age, where you’re travelling, length of time you will be there, and the activities you will be doing. Some countries require you to have certain immunizations before you enter the country.
- See list of recommended and required immunizations by country
- Make sure your routine immunizations are up-to-date (this is important no matter where you travel)
Public health centres in Interior Health do not provide travel health services. These services and vaccines are offered by private providers and some family physicians. There’s a fee for these vaccines and services as they are not covered by B.C.’s provincial health plan.
