Office of the Seniors Advocate
The Office of the Seniors Advocate monitors and analyzes seniors services and issues in B.C. Resources include information on; reports and publications, income supports, personal supports, subsidies for transportation and housing.
Family Caregivers of British Columbia
Family Caregivers of BC is a provincial, not-for-profit that proudly and compassionately supports over 1 million people in British Columbia that provide physical and/or emotional care to a family member, friend, or neighbour. Resources to information, education and supports that enable caregivers to feel more confident and successful in their important role.
Shelter Aid For Elderly Renters (SAFER)
The Shelter Aid for Elderly Renters (SAFER) program helps make rents affordable for BC seniors with low to moderate incomes. SAFER provides monthly cash payments to subsidize rents for eligible BC residents who are age 60 or over.
Lifeline
Lifeline is a non-profit program to help people maintain their independence and remain safe. The program provides an emergency response and personal medication dispensers. You can access Lifeline services through www.lifeline.ca.
Community Care Facility Licensing
The objective of Community Care Facility Licensing program is to work with the Licensees of Licensed Community Care Facilities and monitor their compliance to the Community Care Assisted Living Act, the Child Care Licensing Regulation and the Residential Care Regulation. Additionally, it is Licensing’s mandate to follow-up and investigate all concerns or complaints related to licensed and or unlawful facility operations.
