Personal services
We inspect personal service establishments, which are facilities where a person provides a service to, or on, the body of another person, such as tattooing or piercing.
Establishments where a person provides a service to, or on, the body of another person must follow provincial guidelines. Environmental Health Officers (EHOs) inspect facilities providing moderate and higher risk services.
Lower risk service settings are not routinely inspected, however, owners need to declare their ability to operate in a manner that prevents the spread of disease or injury. For more information visit BC Ministry of Health Personal Service Establishments.
