Heart Rhythm
The heart’s electrical system may become irregular causing the heart to beat too fast or slow, or no longer pump properly. This can make you feel unwell. If you are feeling unwell, seek medical attention immediately.
Atrial Fibrillation
One of the common types of irregular heart rhythms includes Atrial Fibrillation. Atrial Fibrillation occurs when the electrical signals in your heart become irregular and sometimes too fast. This causes the upper chambers of your heart (called Atria) to quiver (or fibrillate) and the signal is not always sent to the lower chambers of your heart (called Ventricles). The first step in treating and managing abnormal heart rhythms might be medications to help slow down a heart beat that is too fast or to make an irregular rhythm more regular.
