Celeste Hein was born and raised in Grand Forks, B.C., where she has been working as a Patient Ambassador and Support Worker at the Boundary District Hospital for 11 years. As an adventurous, outdoorsy person, she lives by the adage, “At the end of the day, your hair should be messy, your feet dirty and your eyes sparkling.”

Celeste likes to bring creativity to her role at Interior Health. She is also reliable, hard working and dedicated, receiving her 10-year anniversary pin in 2021. To this day, getting hired at Interior Health is one of her proudest moments.

“The patients, the public and my awesome co-workers inspire me. I try to be the reason someone smiles and believes in the goodness of others.”

One thing that’s a bit unusual about Celeste is that she hasn’t watched many movies from start to finish. She inevitably dozes off at some point during the film. “I tend to check my eyelids for holes!”

Outside of work, you’ll find Celeste participating in outdoor activities year-round, with her husband and her dog, Aspen. They love to spend time camping, fishing, dirt biking and snowmobiling. Celeste also enjoys playing sports, like ladies’ fastball, slo-pitch and hockey.
