The West Kootenay Boundary Addictions Day Treatment Program (ADTP) is an accessible and effective community-based program for people who want to change their relationship with substance use and enhance well-being in a respectful and accepting group environment. We offer a variety of programs throughout the year. See posters or call 250-304-1215 for upcoming program dates.
The program is based on addressing the needs of the whole person through therapeutic group work, as a well as building self-awareness and knowledge through the development and practise of skills that enhance motivation, build capacity for sustained change, and increase wellness. Program may include topics such as:
· Understanding the Nature of Addiction
· How to Make a Change
· Recognizing and Working with Triggers, Urges and Cravings
· The Relapse Process (how to recognize it and what to do about it)
· Relapse Prevention Skills
· Recognizing and Working with Feelings
· Self-care and Self-compassion
· Goal setting
· Communication Skills
· Boundaries and Assertiveness
· Coping with Trauma and Difficult Life Events
· Yoga and Acupuncture
All programs are held at the Castlegar & District Community Health Centre (707-10th St., Room 31, second floor). Bus tickets, gas subsidy, and short stay housing are available for eligible participants.
