How we help you in your diagnosis

Neurodiagnostic Services (electrodiagnostics) are a combination of procedures used to aid in the diagnosis of medical disease.  These are performed by applying electrodes (sensors) to record electricity from the brain, nerves and spinal cord. 

What services are available?

Procedure information

  • You will need to show your Care Card when registering for your test.
  • Please plan to arrive 20 minutes early to find parking, find the department and to register.
  • It is very important that you are on time as we require the full allotted time in order to provide the best test possible and the most information for your doctor. Most of these procedures are lengthy and will require you to be uninterrupted, so please plan ahead.
  • If you require the aid of a language interpreter, please contact the department at least 48 hours prior so that we can arrange one for you. 
  • If you have head lice, your test will be rescheduled when the lice have been treated twice and there is no evidence of live nits. Learn more about treatment of head lice.

How do I get my results?

The technologist cannot discuss the test results with you. 

All tests are interpreted by a physician specialized in the particular procedure.  A written report will be sent to your referring physician, family doctor and any other physicians requiring copies, and are generally available within 1-2 weeks.

We want to hear from you

If you are unhappy with the service you received, you are encouraged to speak with the person who provided the service, or to the manager of the area. All patients and clients are encouraged to try and resolve any issues at the time and place care is received.
