Travel Immunizations

Going abroad? Be prepared!

Travelers are encouraged to plan well ahead of their travel date when it comes to immunizations for foreign destinations. The type of vaccine and schedule will depend on destination, length of stay and whether or not routine immunizations are up-to-date.

Public health centres in Interior Health do not provide travel health services. These services and vaccines are offered by private providers and some family physicians. There is a fee for these vaccines and services as they are not covered by BC’s provincial health plan.

As a step towards reconciliation, Interior Health acknowledges the land that we live, work, and play on as the traditional territories of the Dakelh Dene, Ktunaxa, Nlaka’pamux, Secwepemc, St’at’imc, Syilx and Tsilhqot’in peoples. It is with humility that we continue to strengthen our relationships with the First Nation, Métis, and Inuit peoples of the interior.
