Physician Practice Enhancement Program
To ensure safe, competent and ethical care for patients, all B.C. physicians who provide community-based care in private offices or multi-physician clinics, or work as long- and short-term locums, will participate in the Physician Practice Enhancement Program at some point in their career.
The program’s approach to physician enhancement is through guiding quality improvement by doing the following:
- Physician assessment
- Feedback and coaching
- Collaboration to identify areas for improvement
- Providing curated quality improvement tools such as self-reflection/ action plan templates, assessment standards for medical record keeping, and links to relevant resources
The goal is to encourage self-reflection and continual improvement within a culture of learning.
