About Kootenay Boundary Rapid Access TIA Clinic

Identifies and treats transient ischemic attack (TIA), helping to prevent a full-blown stroke. A nurse contacts patient for a detailed history after the referral is received, confers with the specialist, and arranges diagnostic tests and patient appointments. Patients meet with a stroke specialist for assessment and treatment. ​​
