Generation Health Clinic is a family-centred healthy living program for children and teens ages six to 17 living with overweight or obesity and specific health concerns. Our program has a pediatrician, registered dietitian, registered social worker, and exercise specialist. The program is available by referral from a physician or nurse practitioner.

After referral, eligible families attend an assessment appointment (virtually and/or in person) at the Kamloops Public Health Unit followed by a virtual feedback appointment.

We offer a fun interactive 10-week virtual group program that includes weekly:

  • One educational evening session (2 hours)
  • One family fun activity evening session (1 hour) on the weekend run by an exercise specialist from the Kamloops Community YMCA-YWCA

This virtual program focuses on improving health and well-being by working with children, teens and their families to build the foundation for healthy living through family connections, balanced eating, active living, mental health, screen time, and sleep.
