All residents of Dr. Andrew Pavillion long-term care home have returned home following the evacuation related to the Bald Range wildfire. Residents were temporarily relocated to alternative sites on Saturday, Aug. 8 due to risks associated with the fire.
Interior Health (IH) has worked closely with families, caregivers, and community partners to support the safe and successful return of these residents, which is now complete. We are grateful for the dedication of all those who helped care for residents throughout the evacuation and repatriation process.
The Summerland Health Centre will reopen on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with surgical services returning in phases. Patients with pending surgeries will be contacted soon with updates on their procedures.
IH continues to monitor wildfire activity and works closely with municipalities, regional districts and the BC Wildfire Service to support the safety of patients, clients, staff and medical staff.
