Community respiratory therapists work with clients in their homes, at health centers and at doctor's offices to provide clinical support and self-management coaching to people with cardio respiratory disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and heart failure. Services may include: respiratory diagnostics including spirometry screening, oxygen assessment, palliative care, ventilator management, artificial airway management, bronchial secretion management, counselling for tobacco cessation, pulmonary rehabilitation and general respiratory therapy.
