Publicly Funded Tuberculin Skin Testing is the first step to find out if a person has been infected with the tuberculosis (TB) germ. Medication to get rid of the TB germ is available, if needed. All public health centres provide TB skin testing to individuals who may have been exposed to an active case of TB, in outbreak situations, for medical reasons and for admission to treatment facilities free of charge.
