Home and Community Care physical and occupational therapists provide in-home assessments, consultations, treatment and education to clients and their families.
Rehabilitation therapists help clients restore, improve or maintain physical capabilities and ensure the home environment is organized to make daily tasks more manageable. Services include teaching exercises to help improve muscle strength, balance and coordination; training in the use of mobility devices like walkers and crutches, or recommending modifications to make a home accessible and safe.
Therapists also provide information about acquiring or using aids to personal care, such as bath seats, grab bars or adaptive devices, as well as equipment such as scooters, wheelchairs and lifts.
Please note services may not be available in your community. Contact your local Home and Community Care office to learn more.
