About North Shore Community Care Services

Located on the second floor of the Kamloops North Shore Health Science Center, you’ll find our Community Care Program.

Referrals are required for services offered at this clinic, but diabetes and nutrition programs will accept a self-referral if you don’t have a provider.

We offer groups and individual sessions for diabetes education, nutritional counselling and wellness programs (Craving Change, and Winning with Wellness).

Our team of respiratory therapists offer spirometry testing, medication review, and education and support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there free parking?

Yes. If you go up Wood Street to the back of the building there is short term parking available for patients of our clinic.

Are there any landmarks nearby?

Our building is located right on the corner of Wood Street and Tranquille, and we are right across the street from the old Village Hotel site and Angry Otter Liquor Store.

Is the site wheelchair accessible?

Yes. Our site is fully accessible.

How do I access your services?

If you have a primary health-care provider, you can ask for a referral to be sent. If you don’t have a primary health-care provider, you can request a referral at your next walk in (or virtual appointment). Our nutrition and diabetes education program does accept self referrals; please contact us at
250-312-3280 (option 3) to find out how to self refer.

Am I allowed to bring my family member with me?

If you would like a family member to attend with you, then we are happy to accommodate that.

Do you have appointments during evenings or weekends?

Not at this time. We are open Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed from Noon to 1 p.m.). Please note that we are closed for all statutory holidays.

What should I do if I received an appointment letter, but don’t know what this is for?

This means a health-care provider has made a referral for you to receive some education. Please call us at 250-312-3280 if you’d like more clarification about what type of appointment this.

Do you charge for these services?

Our services are covered by your B.C. medical coverage.

How long will my appointment be?

We schedule our appointments for approximately 45-60 minutes.

Can I sign up for MyHealthPortal at your location?

Yes. Please let us know when you check in that you’d like a MyHealthPortal registration.

Can I just walk in for an appointment?

No, our site is not a walk-in clinic. We book by appointment only. If you’d like same-day support, please try calling 811 or going to the HealthLinkBC website.
