About Kamloops Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program offers an eight-week group exercise and education program designed to help individuals with lung conditions improve their breathing, overall fitness, and quality of life.

Participants learn to exercise under the direct supervision of health care professionals. Pulmonary rehabilitation is structured around two components:

  • Exercise Training
    • Aerobic and resistance training to improve endurance, strength, and functional capacity
  • Education and Self-Management Support
    • Topics may include inhaler technique, energy conservation, nutrition, breathing strategies, symptom monitoring, and action planning
    • These components are integrated to support long-term behaviour change, improve daily function, and reduce disease burden
