The language we use to talk about people with substance use disorders can bring out many negative stereotypes. 

Clearwater and area residents are advised that the emergency department at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital is closed tonight due to limited staffing availability and inclement weather. Lab services will not be available during the emergency department closure.

With multiple highways still damaged by flooding and mudslides, the Province is extending the provincial state of emergency.

Given the continued need for public safety measures under the Emergency Program Act and ongoing work to repair damaged highways, the provincial state of emergency is being extended until the end of the day on Jan. 11, 2022.
