Beyond the Buzz Youth Voices on Tobacco, Cannabis, Vaping & Alcohol

Youth in grades 6-12 across the Interior Health region were invited to submit an original form of artwork that shares their views on the impacts of tobacco, cannabis, vaping and alcohol use. 

It’s important for adults and your peers alike to understand the impact these substances have on you, your friends, family, school and community. Winners chose a gift card of theirr choice valued at $150!

Formerly known as Take a Breath: Teen Voices on Tobacco, Vaping and Cannabis Poster Contest, this year the contest has a new name: Beyond the Buzz: Youth Voices on Tobacco, Cannabis, Vaping & Alcohol.

We not only invited youth to express their views on smoking and vaping, but on drinking as well. And this year, we've expanded the contest to include students in grades 6 and 7.

You can participate in the contest if you are a grade 6–12 student living in the Interior Health Region of B.C.

New this year! the contest will be split into two separate grade brackets: one for students in grades 6-8, and one for grades 9-12. With two grade brackets, there’s a better chance to win a prize!

1. Create an original poster, illustration or an infographic that match one of the contest themes.
2. Submit your poster and a completed entry form.  

Artwork designs must be no longer than one page, and either 8.5 x 11 or 11 x 17 inches in size. All artwork submitted must be original and created by the person making the submission.

The winning artists will be awarded $150 in the form of a gift card of their choosing.
