About Williams Lake Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC)

The Williams Lake Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) provides both in-person and virtual primary care for individuals needing medical attention within 12 to 24 hours, without requiring emergency department services. The UPCC offers team-based care for health concerns such as sprains, cuts, fevers, and minor infections. Serving Williams Lake and surrounding communities.

If you have a health emergency that requires immediate care, call 911 or present at the nearest emergency department.

Care is available for concerns such as:

  • Minor injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Infections
  • Less serious child illness and injury
  • Fever
  • Cuts, wounds, or skin conditions

UPCCs use a team-based approach and include a variety of health-care professionals who closely work together to provide your care. Depending on the nature of your injury or illness, you will be seen by the provider(s) best able to meet your needs; this may be a physician, a nurse practitioner, a registered nurse, or another health professional, such as a social worker, mental health worker or physiotherapist.

If you do not have a family health-care provider, or you are unable to get an appointment with your care provider that day, you can visit the UPCC. A health-care team is available, virtually or in-person to provide care for your health issues. You may see one or more of the following health professionals depending on your care needs:

  • Medical Office Assistants (MOA)
  • Primary Care Providers:
  • Family Physicians
  • Nurse Practitioners
  • Registered Nurses (RN)
  • Indigenous Patient Navigators (IPN)
  • Physiotherapist (PT)
  • Social Work (SW)
