Discover the preferred treatment option for opioid use disorder
Opioid Agonist Treatment, or OAT, is a safe and effective treatment for opioid use disorder. Prescribed medications provide stable, long acting relief from withdrawal and cravings. It is the preferred treatment for opioid use disorder based on many years of research.
Watch this video, which is part of a series, to learn how you can find yourself on date night again.
Learn more about OAT
The primary medications used are Buprenorphine / Naloxone (Suboxone®) and Methadone. OAT is widely available through Interior Health Mental Health and Substance Use centres, community clinics, primary care providers (doctors and Nurse Practitioners), and hospital Emergency Departments.
If you’re concerned about your opioid use (i.e. fentanyl, morphine, oxycodone, heroin, etc.), speak to your primary care provider or call 310-6478 (MHSU) to be connected directly to your local Mental Health and Substance Use centre.

If you’re concerned about your child’s communication skills, the earlier they see a speech-language pathologist, the better the outcomes—and it’s free.
