Generation Health Clinic is a family-centred healthy living clinic for children and teens ages six to 17 living with obesity or living with overweight and specific health concerns. Our clinical team includes a pediatrician, dietitian, registered social worker, and exercise specialist. The program is available by referral from a physician or nurse practitioner.

After referral, eligible families attend an assessment appointment (virtually and/or in person) at the Kamloops Public Health Unit followed by a virtual feedback appointment.

Based on their individualized care plan, families and children or teens receive healthy living support for up to two years from our allied health team, through a combination of:

  • 1:1 family appointments with a dietitian and/or mental health professional
  • Group education sessions for parents/caregivers on various healthy living topics

Families also have an opportunity to participate in a virtual family physical activity group delivered by an exercise specialist.
