Choosing to practice medicine in Cranbrook wasn’t part of Babatunde’s original plan, but he’s glad he took the leap.

Born and raised in Nigeria, Babatunde has trained and worked around the world, including his home country, Ukraine and the United States. It was the closest people in his life that convinced him to give Canada a chance.

“My sister was already living in Canada then," Babatunde says. "The quality of life, security and low crime rate were quite attractive. It seemed like a great place to raise a family.”

In 2023, he followed his heart and began the journey to practicing medicine in British Columbia.
