We Are IH: Project manager helps deliver digital health services

Learn more about Amelie’s journey with IH
Amelie decided to pursue a career in health care after an experience she had that was a stark reminder of the communication challenges faced by people whose first language isn’t English. She wanted to make a difference in how essential services are offered to B.C. residents and be part of something bigger.
As a project manager for the Digital Health portfolio, Amelie works with interested parties to ensure Digital Health projects are rolled out successfully. Depending on the stage of the project, her job involves meeting with project sponsors and partners, planning and tracking progress, writing reports, supporting communications and problem solving.

I am extremely proud and thankful of this path and will never forget my first steps in B.C.

If any issues arise in the rollout of a project, Amelie works together with interested parties and subject matter experts to problem solve and address any issues or complications to ensure the end users are benefiting from the digital tools that support bringing health care to the communities IH serves.

What inspires me is how much IH staff (Digital Health or elsewhere) will find creative ways to make things move forward in a really complex environment.
In recognition of International Women’s Day
In recognition of International Women’s Day on March 8, we asked Amelie which person at IH who identifies as a woman inspires her, and why they inspire her.

Marie Manchulenko, director, Clinical Informatics – Acute & Ambulatory Systems. She is a great leader, with a strong sense of priorities, always able to keep the big picture in mind and leading her teams towards it. She is true to herself. She started with IH as a helpdesk analyst, then joined Digital Health as a service desk supervisor and is now a director. This is an inspiring career path within IH. Her leadership was key to the success of the MEDITECH 2.2 implementation.
