The Slocan Primary Care Satellite Clinic offers a comprehensive range of services, including preventive care such as routine physicals, health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, cancer), well-child checkups, and lifestyle counseling.

  • Acute illness management covers treatment for common illnesses, minor injuries, and short-term conditions like rashes and fevers
  • Chronic disease management focuses on ongoing care for conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, including regular monitoring and treatment adjustments
  • Reproductive health services include family planning, sexually transmitted infection (STI) care, and birth control counseling (excluding IUD insertion)
  • Palliative care involves office-based support, referrals, and home visits when needed
  • The clinic also provides women’s health services such as prenatal/postnatal care and cervical/breast screenings, as well as pediatric well-child visits and geriatric care, including memory screening and fall prevention. Additionally, minor procedures like joint injections are available for managing chronic pain

  • If you do not currently have a primary care provider, you can register with the Health Connect Registry to be matched when a provider becomes available
  • In case of a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department at Slocan Community Health Centre: 401 Galena Avenue, New Denver.

Hours for Slocan Primary Care Satellite Clinic

Wednesdays: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Appointment are for existing/attached patients, and only for non-urgent, non-emergency primary care services. There are no walk-in services.
