Daytime highs between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 18 degrees Celsius are forecast for the next two days. This is not an extreme heat emergency.

Daytime highs between 35 and 38 degrees Celsius combined with overnight lows near 18 degrees Celsius are forecast for the next two days. This is not an extreme heat emergency.

New Denver and area residents are advised of temporary changes to emergency department hours at Slocan Community Health Centre due to unexpected limited nursing availability.

Emergency services will be unavailable until 8 a.m. Thursday, July 20 and patients can access care at Arrow Lakes Hospital at 97 1^st Ave NE, Nakusp.

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.

From 7 p.m. Wednesday, July, 12, to 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 13, emergency services will be unavailable and patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

During this time, all other inpatient services will continue as normal at Nicola Valley Hospital.
