About Vernon Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC)

​The Vernon Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC) provides team-based care for non-emergency health concerns to individuals in Vernon who require same-day attention.

Care is available for concerns such as:

  • Minor injuries
  • Sprains and strains
  • Infections
  • Less serious child illness and injury
  • High fever
  • Cuts, wounds or skin conditions

If you do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner, or you are unable to get an appointment with your care provider that day, you can visit the UPCC. A health-care team is available to provide care for your health issues.

You may see one or more of the following health professionals depending on your care needs:

  • Family physician
  • Nurse practitioner
  • Registered nurse
  • Social worker
  • Physiotherapist
  • Mental health and substance use clinicians

Patients are seen at the Vernon UPCC by appointment only. Book an appointment by calling 250-541-1097 and talking to one of our registered nurses. Patients are given an appointment time based on urgency, not based on the time they call to make an appointment.

Is the health centre wheelchair accessible?

Yes.

Do I need to book an appointment?

Yes. You can book an appointment by calling 250-541-1097 between 9:30 a.m. and 8 p.m., seven days a week. Urgent care appointments are booked same day only.

When you call, you'll be connected to a nurse who will assess your medical need and its urgency.

Are there emergency hours?

No. The centre is open 9:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., seven days a week. There's no access outside of these hours.

Is the clinic accessible by public transit?

Yes. The Vernon UPCC is located in downtown Vernon. The main downtown bus terminal is about a five-minute walk from the clinic.

Is free parking available?

It depends on the time of day you come to the care centre. City of Vernon parking meters are in effect Monday to Saturday, 9 a.m. to  6 p.m.. Street parking is free after 6 p.m., and on Sundays, statutory holidays, or as otherwise posted by the City of Vernon.

Is the clinic open on holidays?

Yes.
