About Nelson Community Health Services Centre

The Nelson Community Health Services Centre is a purpose-built facility located on the First Nation traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Ktunaxa and syilx in the Fairview neighbourhood of Nelson, BC, forming part of the newly developed Nelson Health Campus.

Opened in August 2025, the centre is designed to bring together a wide range of community health programs under one roof to improve access, coordination, and continuity of care for residents of Nelson and the surrounding region. It replaces the Nelson Health Centre and the Gordon Road Wellness Centre, offering a more modern and centralized location for care delivery.

The centre houses an array of services, including public health, mental health and substance use support, home and community care, chronic disease management, and various outreach programs. It supports individuals and families at all stages of life: from prenatal and early childhood services to seniors' health, harm reduction, and social work support.

By integrating these services in a single, accessible location, the centre fosters collaboration among health-care providers, reduces duplication of services, and streamlines the patient experience. This shift to a more holistic, team-based care model represents a significant step forward in how community health is delivered in the Kootenay region.
