UPDATE: Clinton Health & Wellness Centre reopening Wednesday as Interior Health restores services

The Clinton Health & Wellness Centre will reopen to patients and clients on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, as Interior Health (IH) continues to restore services following the lifting of the evacuation order on Aug. 15, 2026.

Services were suspended on July 24 due to wildfire-related risks associated with the Pear Lake and Fiftynine Creek wildfires.

The Clinton Health & Wellness Centre, located at 1510 Cariboo Highway, provides weekday nursing, lab work and basic care. Beginning Wednesday, the centre will be open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To book an appointment or for more information, call 250-459-2028 or 250-459-2083.

Home Health services have already resumed in the Clinton area, and residents requiring care can call 1-800-707-8550 to book an appointment.

Residents returning to Clinton may also access the Resiliency Centre at the Clinton Curling Club, located at 1419 Kellow Lane. The centre, hosted through the Village of Clinton, High Bar First Nation, Whispering Pines First Nation and Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD), offers a range of information, supports and recovery resources including IH resources, to help community members during the transition home and throughout the recovery process. Hours are currently 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., seven days a week. Residents can visit in person or call 778-583-0334.

IH would like to thank all partners, including the Village of Clinton, TNRD Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), BC Wildfire Service, Emergency Support Services, community partners and employees and medical staff from across the region, for their support during the temporary closure and reopening of services.

IH continues to closely monitor wildfire activity in the Interior in consultation with municipalities, regional districts, and the BC Wildfire Service to keep staff, patients and clients safe.

Residents requiring urgent same-day care can access services at the Ashcroft Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC), located at 700 Ash-Cache Creek Highway in Ashcroft. Patients are encouraged to call 250-453-2211 in advance to discuss their care needs and arrange an appointment where possible.

Those requiring support during this crisis are encouraged to call the BC Crisis Line at 310-6789.
